4H-SiC, well known for power electronics applications, finds application also in the fields of optoelectronic and sensors. After a brief presentation on the historical developments of SiC UV photo-detectors at IMM HQ, some activities
on SiC based IR photon sources and applications to agro-food, environmental and volcanic fields of an UV spectroscopy apparatus based on SiC IMM technology, will be presented.
