The hot-electrons generation in graphene has been acknowledged to be fundamental for applications in electronics and the modeling of devices. Here we revisit the study of hot-electrons in multilayer graphene via pump–probe spectroscopy using infrared wavelengths. In the experiments on supported multilayer graphene, we take into account the role of the substrate and extract the optical conductivity before analysis without prior assumptions. The role of the electronic Auger recombination is highlighted in the interpretation of the optical conductivity evolution after pump excitation.
